Ro-500
I originally started to work on this kit back in 2019 but due to the pandemic, I had to hit the pause button on the commissions I had back then, so no video for this girl, unfortunately.
This is Ro-500 from Kancolle and she’s a 1/3 scale kit, standing at a whopping 56 cm tall (21.5″)
Original kit from S-Mist and the most horrible casting quality in existence with notable hits as:
- Uneven seam lines
- Surface air bubbles galore that look liked she had a severe case of chickenpox (that I had to open and fill one by one might I add).
- Fitting issues
- Super huge gaps on all connections
- Unusable torpedo because it all broke and there was nothing to salvage, had to 3D model it to replace the old one, likewise with her lifesaver, full of surface air bubbles
Had to re-sculpt some areas, adjust others with my trusty poly putty, also had to create connection keys on a lot of pieces because it had none, also sculpted some nails on her fingers because why not? I’m already redoing many things on her, might as well while I’m there
Over 200+ hrs of work.
